Finding motivation to write

A list of things I found that help me stay on track with writing.

  • Set aside time every day by planning on spending the same amount of time each day to write or anything you find worth doing. Even if it is just ten minutes each day.

  • Gather support from friends and family.

  • NaNoWriMo occurs in November but also has events throughout the year. I found that during the month of November in 2020 that the website helped motivate me to write as much as possible.

  • Writing short stories.

  • Keeping a journal of story ideas.

  • Have paper on you to write down random things that come to mind pertaining to your stories.

  • Read other stories to give you examples and help you to understand how to write efficiently.

  • Look for inspiration everywhere.

  • Take in the beauty around you to give you context when writing.
